Kerala Supplyco to go For Indefinite Strike From Aug 20
Presenting their Demand Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation workers have told that if their demands will not get green signal than they will go for an indefinite strike from August 20.
As a forward to the strike, the joint protest committee of Supplyco Trade Unions will also carry out a protest march starting from Kasaragod on August 5 ending at Thiruvananthapuram, on August 13.
The demands of the protesters include doing away with the deputation system, filing up of vacancies and adequate promotions for workers, establishing minimum wages for daily workers and setting up basic facilities like toilets in Supplyco outlets.
“While the government mandates minimum wage in every companies, about 4,000 daily wage earners in Supplyco, who work for 12 to 14 hours, get a meager salary of `250.”
