Madaras Kerala Samajham older than Kerala itself is going to open a new school in Kerala State. Though it still has two more phases to go, the modern structure with its full-fledged auditoriums, modern class rooms, car parking and other facilities speaks volumes about the journey that the organisation has been through.
The members, most of them daily wage labourers, railway workers, factory workers, vendors and others, would take out their free time in the evenings, or take a day off from their work, to get together and construct the building. After a year or so of hard work, the simple structure was inaugurated by the then President of India, Dr S Radhakrishnan,” says the General Secretary Kumblengad Unnikrishnan.
