Kerala Local Body Polls to be Held on November 2, 5
The three-tier local bodies polls in Kerala will be held in two phases on November 2 and 5, State Election Commissioner K Sashidharan Nair said.
While the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Idukki, Kozhikode, Kannur, Waynad, Kasaragod will go to polls on November 2, Kottayam, Pathnamthitta, Alapuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram and Palakkad districts will face the polls on November 5, he told reporters here.
The results will be announced on November 7.
The election notification will be issued on October 7, while the last date for filing nominations is October 14.
Scrutiny will be held on October 15 and last date of withdrawal October 17.
The model code of conduct will come into force from today, he said.
The polls are to be held in 941 gram panchayats, 152 block panchayats, 14 district panchayats, 86 municipalities, and six corporations.
