Monsoon to Hit Kerala by 28th May
22 May 2013
Thiruvananthapuram
Monsoon rain is expected to arrive in the southern state’s coast as early as 28 May as the heat wave in the northwest and central parts of India is working as a catalyst to pull the weather system that is building up in the southeast Arabian Sea and deliver the first monsoon showers over the Kerala coast at the start of next week.
Westerly to southwesterly wind conditions in the south peninsula also suggest that the weather system in southeast Arabian Sea may inch towards the Kerala coast. In the meantime, pre-monsoon showers will continue for the next two days in Kerala, south interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu under the trough of low pressure belt that runs from east Uttar Pradesh to south Tamil Nadu.
