371 arrested under ‘Operation Suraksha’ In Kerala
In a bid to check criminal activities, as many as 371 persons, involved in various unlawful activities have been arrested from across the state as part of Operation Suraksha.
Sixty four persons were arrested from Thiruvananthapuram range, 33 from Kochi range, 119 from Thrissur and 155 from Kannur range on Tuesday.
The action was part of Operation Suraksha, an ambitious drive launched by the state Home Department against goons and gangsters to check criminal activities.
Meanwhile, seven persons were held for selling banned contraband, including pan masala and liquor, in the premises of schools in different parts of the state.
With this, the total number of persons arrested in such cases in Kerala was now 10,434 since May 30, 2014, it said.
The action against those invlolved in criminal activities would be intensified in the coming days and public can inform the police about such criminals through the toll-free number 1090, Kerala Police Chief T.P. Senkumar said.
