3 NIT – Kozhikode Students Died After Car Collision

Three NIT-Kozhikode students from Andhra Pradesh were killed and four others injured when the car they were travelling in collided with a lorry at Punjirimillil near Vadakara in Kozhikode on Sunday morning.The dead were Harish Rayini, 21, from Warangal, P. Raju, 20, from Gudur and Asapu Hithesh, 21, from Vishakapatnam. They were all third-year B.Tech students. While two of them died on the spot, one died on the way to hospital.
Harish was a student of biotechnology, while Hithesh and Raju were of the department of electronics and communication engineering. Shravan belonged to the department of production engineering and Prasanth, a computer science student.
The students, in the rented Alto car, were proceeding to Mahe on a weekend trip when the mishap occurred at Punjirimillil, according to police. The fish lorry from Goa was heading for Kozhikode.The condition of the two students was critical, according to the doctors.
