Idukki Dam Water Level Falling

Due to lack of monsoon previous year the water level in the Idukki dam is falling and if this continues than the Hydroelectric project if the dam may have to be stopped . At present water level is sufficient to generate only 284.47 million units of power.
Generally, the Kerala State Electricity Board stops generation of electricity when water level reaches that which is sufficient to generate 150 million units of power, Kerala State Electricity Board sources said.
Water level in the Idukki reservoir stood at 2,304 feet against its full level of 2,403 feet on Wednesday.
