14 Days Remand for a Man for selling his children

A Magistrate court in this northern-most district of Kerala has remanded a man for allegedly selling his two children, yesterday.The Kasargod Chief Judicial Magistrate sent R Ratheesh (31) of Nellikkunu Tsunami quarters in 14-day judicial custody in connection with a case relating to selling his children allegedly through brokers.
Police today said Ratheesh had admitted to the sleuths probing the case of selling off six-month-old son for Rs 1 lakh at Mangalore in neighbouring Karnataka a month ago.
Probe was also on to ascertain the role of broker, Mangalore-based woman advocate and the children’s mother, who was living with the accused without entering into wed-lock.
