MU-7 by Isuzu Motors Launched in Kochi

Isuzu Motors have launched a sport car named MU-7 in Kochi and also have opened its first showroom in Kochi near Vytilla.Isuzu is looking to compete with the its Japanese rivals Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero by pricing close to these vehicles.
According to Takashi Kikuchi, president and managing director, Isuzu Motors India, MU-7 model would be the longest in its class offering ample space and comfort for driving. MU-7 is powered by four cylinder 2999 cc intercooled VGS Turbo Diesel engine producing power of 163 PS@ 3600 RPM and torque of 360NM@1800-2800 RPM. The MU-7 is priced at `22.93 lakh for BS4 variant and `22.63 lakh for BS3 variant.
Isuzu is also planning to roll out pick up truck truck D-Max by New Delhi Auto Expo next month. Shigeru Wakabayashi, deputy managing director, Isuzu Motors India said that they are looking to build a network of 60 dealerships in next couple of years. Currently, Isuzu has a contract manufacturing agreement with Hindustan Motors (HML) under which assembling of MU-7 would take place at HML plant at Thiruvallur.
