Kerala is among the few states that relied on NEET rank list for MBBS, BDS and post-graduate admissions. From next year onwards, the state government may conduct the Common Entrance Examinations for admissions to medical courses.
Commissioner for Entrance Examinations B.S. Mavoji told DC that the admissions to government quota seats would be from the NEET. There would be no change in the admission process this year, he said.
The Christian Medical College Management Federation Coordinator George Paul said that the question was not whether admissions were from the rank list prepared on the basis of the common entrance test or the rank list prepared by the private managements. The admissions should be free and fair. The common entrance test was violation of the Supreme Court judgement in the TMA Pai case, he said.
