Daytime Powers Shedding to be Removed from Today
June 12 2013
Thiruvananthapuram
Due to scarce water level and not enough water to generate the electricity the day load shedding will be lifted from today in Kerala State of India. The decision comes in the wake of the hydel reservoirs receiving adequate in-flow, Electricity Minister Aryadan Mohammed informed the Assembly on Tuesday.
At present, the State Electricity Regulatory Commission has allowed the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) to impose loadshedding continuously for one hour during daytime – between 9 am and 5 pm – and another half hour between 7 pm and 11 pm. The loadshedding should have been lifted on May 31, but the KSEB had urged the Commission to extend it to June 30. The Commission, however, approved the proposal only in part, extending the same to June 15.
At present, the reservoir of the Idukki project has water enough to generate 276.4 MU, and the Pamba reservoir, 75.4 MU.
