Fazid Ali to be replaced by Arya in Double barrel

Tamil Actor Arya will be replacing Fazhid Ali in the upcoming Double Barrel movie which is directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. The movie was actually planned with Prithviraj, Fahad Fazil and Indrajith in the lead roles; but reportedly, Fahad Fazil has walked out of the project due to unknown reasons.

Arya was also approached for a pivotal role in Prithviraj starrer Mumbai Police, directed by Roshan Andrews; but actor turned down the offer due to other movie commitments. Later the role went to Jayasurya. Arya has always expressed his keen interest in doing Malayalam films; but considers his lack of fluency in the language as a barrier.

Double Barrel is one of the most prestigious projects of 2014. The movie will have Asif Ali and Sunny Wayne in extended cameo roles. Swathi Reddy, Rachana Narayanakutti and Isha Sherwani plays the female leads in the movie. Double Barrel is produced by the August Cinema and is slated to release for Christmas.
