First Kerala Legislative Assembly Members to be Honored

All the living members of Kerala Legislative Assembelt will be honored at the Assembly hall in Thiruvananthapuram, Speaker G. Karthikeyan has said.Mr. Karthikeyan said Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer, K.R. Gouri, Veliyam Bhargavan, E. Chandrasekharan Nair, and Kattakada Balakrishna Pillai were the other five members of the first Legislative Assembly to be honored.
He said the Assembly had taken special care in the case of its former members. They were provided with facility for medical treatment and travel. They were getting attractive medical treatment facility, compared to that of the former Members of Parliament.
Mr. Karthikeyan said the Assembly always used to take a decision on matters relating to the former MLAs, including their medical treatment, within 24 hours. After presenting a ‘ponnada’ to Ms. Punnose, the Speaker invited her to the new Assembly complex.
