Kerala Forests Have 7,000 Elephants and 100 Tigers

According to recent survey by forest department State Forest Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan told that the forests have about 7,000 wild elephants and 100 tigers population. The numbers have gone up while other wild animals population have also shows increment in the recent survey.
Man-animal conflict and related issues have also emerged with the increase in the number of wild animals, he said.
Stating that it was very important to preserve the habitat of wildlife, he said government has initiated various measures to protect and preserve forests.
