Thiruvananthapuram
The state Police has started measures to prevent Internet porn in cyber cafes. A directive has been issued to top police officials by the DGP in this matter and the initiative is to be headed by the state’s special Cyber Cell.
The Cyber Cell has identified about 654 major sites that serve porn are they are most frequented by Internet users in the state. Even though the Cyber Cell can file cases against those caught visiting these sites in cafes, the police department had been lenient to users so far considering the huge numbers of people addicted to porn.
Even though the police say that viewers of all ages visit such sites, the main challenge they face is to restrict teenagers from visiting such sites. The Cyber Cell said that Internet cafe owners are ignoring norms because of the lure of money.
