KSEB Soon to Open Online Services Portals for Consumer
Kerala State Electricity Board has decided to make a portal for online services for all consumers of the state which will ease many problems faced by the consumers says Minister for Electricity Aryadan Mohammed.
The online services are being implemented under the Centrally assisted Restructured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Programme’s (RAPDRP) IT project, he said in reply to questions in the House on Wednesday.
The Centre has sanctioned Rs.214.38 crore for strengthening the transmission system in the State under a Rs.10,000-crore programme worked out for States.Replying to another query, the Minister said the Central allocation of power to the State was 1,433 MW. The State got only 889.98 MW till May due to a host of problems, including transmission problems.
This financial year, the State got 3,063.41 million units of electricity from the southern grid.
The State is getting only 3 MW from the Damodar Valley Corporation although the agreement is for 250 MW, owing to lack of a power corridor. The issue had been taken up with the Central Regulatory Commission as Tamil Nadu which applied later had been given the transmission corridor.
