Man From Kerala Planned to Loot RBI

Padma Shekar Nair (27), who barged into the RBI headquarters at Fort on Tuesday and fired a round with his airgun, told the police that he had intended to loot cash. After being caught by RBI guards, Nair was handed over to the MRA Marg police, which shifted the case to the crime branch. Nair was found to be drunk at the time of the incident.
“He said he came to Mumbai after stealing Rs 3.5 lakh in Kerala. He claims he does not remember where he spent the money, but now he has Rs 40,000 left with him,” said cops. Nair reportedly visited Ootty, Bangalore and Chennai before coming here. He has been sent to police custody till April 14.
Nair worked in a mobile repairing shop. His father works in a warehouse, his mother is a headmistress and his sister is in college.
