Medical Trust Hospital to Organize Seminar on Gastroenterology

In connection with the 20th anniversary of the Gastroenterology Department of the Medical Trust Hospital, Kochi, a two-day seminar on new treatment methods for gastro-endocrinologists began in Kochi on Saturday.

Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan inaugurated the workshop. He said the efforts taken by the institutions to spread knowledge should be appreciated.

“Kerala is also getting acquainted with the the new technologies which are being introduced across the globe without any time lag. To percolate the benefits of such updated technologies to the lower strata, society has to come forward,” he said.

Director of Medical Trust Hospital P V Antony presided over the meet. Dr Charles Panaikkal, Dr Sunil K Mathai and Dr Sun Siyu spoke.

Dr Sun Siyu, one of the Asia’s leading gastro-endocrinologist from China, Dr Asok Chacko, Madras Medical Mission, Dr Vimal Someshwar from Mumbai, Dr Malay Sarma, Meerut, presented a thesis on Gastro-Intestinal Intervention. Dr Philip Augustine, Lakeshore Hospital, and Dr Sakthi Parvathy (Medical Trust) presided over this session.
