Monsoon on the Way to Kerala

Monsoon Condition seems to be favorable for the advance of the southwest monsoon towards India after nearly a week-long lull from May 29, according to the latest India Meteorological Department ( IMD) forecast. Monsoon in Kerala is to reach around first week of June around 3rd June with error margin of 4 days.

Hardly any advance of the monsoon was observed from May 20 -25. It showed just a little progress on May 26 and 27, and conditions are favorable for it again from May 29,” said Medha Khole, deputy direction general of meteorology .

IMD’s long-range forecasting has estimated all-India average rainfall this year to be 98%.
