New Turn in Solar Scam Shalu Menon Intentions was to Marry Biju

Actress Shalu Menon has revealed to the Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the solar panel scandal, that she was associated with con man Biju Radhakrishnan’s business as she had an intention to marry him.

The police recorded the statement in the report submitted to the First Class Judicial Magistrate Court here on Saturday which later remanded her in the Attakulangara sub-jail till Monday.

Earlier, Shalu had always maintained that she was ignorant of the fraudulent activities of Biju and that he had cheated her of `20 lakh. A police case was also lodged by Shalu’s mother Kaladevi in this regard. On Friday, Shalu was arrested on the complaint filed by Rasikh Ali, a city-based businessman, who alleged the actor and Biju had cheated him of Rs 76 lakh promising to set up a windmill project in Tamil Nadu.
