Pakistani Prisoners Sent back home
4 April 2013
Thiruvananthapuram
The Kerala police on Wednesday sent back 15 Pakistani prisoners to their country. They were lodged at the Central Prison, Poojappura, here. Prison officials said the fishermen were allowed a special diet and given ample facilities for religious requirements. They were allowed to contact their consulate officials and through them their families in Pakistan.
The Coast Guard had detained the Pakistani citizens, all fishermen, when their vessels inadvertently ventured into the Indian waters off Lakshadweep in January. The men left for the Wagah border under police escort in an early morning train.
