Power Cuts Lifted by KSEB
16 June 2013
Kochi
With good monsoon rain this year the reservoir which were at danger zone of scarcity of water are filling up quite good and power consumption is falling across the State, the Kerala State Electricity Board on Sunday lifted load-shedding.
Last year’s shortage in rainfall and the unusually hot summer this year had forced KSEB to resort to load-shedding which in the second leg had been for one hour in the daytime and half hour at night.
There has been abundant rainfall in the catchment areas of the main hydroelectric projects, particularly Idukki. The reservoirs, which had almost hit rock-bottom towards the end of May, are now one-sixth full.
