Special Schools of Kerala gets Aided Status

Kerala Govt have decided to grant 40 of the special schools for mentally challenged people to aided status. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that now schools with more than 100 students were being converted into aided schools. This criteria would be relaxed later to grant aided status to more special schools.
Chief Minister OOmmen Chandy also said that it was the fault of government that free education for mentally challenged students was not ensured while other students were having free education.
This criteria would be relaxed later to grant aided status to more special schools. Till then, the teachers and non-teaching staff of private schools would be given a monthly allowance of Rs. 1600.
