Sugathakumari Congratulated for winning Saraswati Samman Award

The Kerala Assembly congratulated Malayalam poetess and social activist Sugathakumari for winning this year’s prestigious Saraswati Samman. A resolution moved by Speaker G Karhikeyan was passed by the House.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Ommen Chandy said the recognition received by Sugathakumari was not only for her, but for all Keralites. Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan congratulated her and said “Let there be more poems and writings from Sugathakumari in future also’.
