Thrissur Pooram To Begin Today

One of Kerala’s grand festivals, the Thrissur Pooram, is to start today at Thrissur. The flag-hoisting rituals that mark the start of the festivities are to be performed at the Thiruvampady and Paramelkaavu temples at 11.30 AM and 12 PM respectively today. Following the hoisting of the flags, the two deities at the temples would come out in a procession.

>As with each year, with the hoisting of the flags, Thrissur would immerse itself in Pooram festivities in the coming days. The festival has drawn accolades from various sources, including the UNESCO, for its beauty, grandeur and uniqueness.
