Two KSRTC Buses Collided And Overs 55 Peoples Wounded
Two Kerala State Road Transport Corporation buses collided near Vettinad Market Junction at Vattappara on MC Road and more than six persons sustained serious injuries and over 49 others minor injuries
More than six persons sustained serious injuries and over 49 others minor injuries when two KSRTC buses collide. The injured have been admitted to the nearby Medical College Hospital and the Vattappara and police have registered a case
The accident took place around 12.15 p.m., when the driver of a Super Express bus on its way to Ernakulam from Thiruvananthapuram lost control of the vehicle after he applied sudden brake, said the Vattappara police.The bus slipped onto the other side of the road and collided head-on with a Chalakudy-Thiruvananthapuram Super Fast.
A majority of the 70-odd passengers were treated at the Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram with hospital officials saying 55 people, including six with serious injuries, were given immediate attention and taken to private hospitals en route to the capital from Vattappara.
The police said, nearly 30 men and 25 women were among those who were treated at the MCH, while some of the injured were treated at a private hospital, near Venpalavattom. Both the drivers were among those with serious injuries, including fractures, but the condition of none was critical.
