Vinod Rai Former CAG to Check Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple Management
Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple member were in the meeting with Former CAG Vinod Rai who will be inspecting the finances and management of the temple.
Even as he initiated a series of measures aimed at determining the “scope of audit” of the finances of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple here on Monday, the former CAG, Vinod Rai, also held discussions with the Accountant General-Kerala to put together a team of retired personnel of the AG’s office to help him with the task.
Mr. Rai was recently tasked by the Supreme Court to audit the temple’s finances based on the recommendation of Gopal Subramaniam, Amicus Curiae in the case relating to the temple in the apex court.
At a meeting with members of the newly constituted managing committee of the temple on Monday morning, Mr. Rai reportedly asked that all registers pertaining to the temple’s accounts be kept ready for inspection on Tuesday. Temple Executive Officer K. N. Satheesh has also formally written to the Kowdiar Palace asking members of the royal family of erstwhile Travancore to hand over any documents, books or registers relating to the temple that they may have in their possession.
