KUFOS to get aid from Center

Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies is the first university of its type in the country. The Central government will take initiatives to provide financial and technical assistance to Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (Kufos), the first Fisheries University in the India, said, K V Thomas, Union Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies.
Fisheries Minister K Babu said that the university will be promoted as the Fisheries Hub in India. He further said that a senate council would be set up soon. “The initiatives to form the university senate council are in the final round. The report in this regard has been sent to the Governor, Chancellor of the University,” said, Babu.
K Babu released the Kufos Master Plan, according to which the entire infrastructure planning of the varsity will be completed by 2030. The university logo was released by K V Thomas at the function. Sridhar, senior scientist, Central Institute of Freshwater Acquaculture (CIFA), ICAR, Bangalore, delivered the foundation day lecture.
