Livestock Research Centre to Study Climatic Changes

Livestock Research Centre at Thiruvazhamkunnu here will become part of the Worldwide University Network (WUN) consisting of Universities and Research Centres in different countries engaged in the study of global warming and climatic change.
The Head of the Livestock Research Centre under the Kerala University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Stephen Mathew, has said that the Centre will join six world Universities who have jointly taken up the study. They are Pennsylvania State University, University of Bristol, University of Leeds, University of Western Australia and Zhejeang University.
He said that the Centre had already taken up research on dairy development and food security. By 2050 the world population will reach 900 crore. The climate change and global warming will affect the food production particularly in the dairy sector.
