Kerala Temperature Rises reports of Sunstroke

Despite some showers in different parts of the state over the past fortnight, Kerala has continued to sizzle in the heat, and there are reports of sunstroke from different districts.

The latest report of sunstroke has come from Punalur in the south of the state, where an employee of a local temple was rushed to hospital after complaining of exhaustion, apparently caused by exposure to the hot sun. Another person in Punalur, workshop employee Bovas Philip, had earlier been taken to hospital following sunstroke on Monday.

Punalur and Palakkad in the south and north of the state have recorded the highest day temperatures of 40 degrees celsius each. Kottayam (36C) and Kozhikode (35C) have also recorded high day temperatures.
