Adhar Cards Compulsory for RTE Admissions

The Kerala Government has made Aadhaar cards mandatory for Right to Education (RTE) admissions. On the basis of Unique Identification Numbers (UID), the Government has decided to provide benefits to children from disadvantaged groups. The Kerala State Information Technology Mission (KSITM) will ensure that all students obtain Aadhaar cards.
In order to maintain records of each child, the local authorities have to ensure that the Aadhaar card is distributed to every child, as per Kerala’s RTE Rules.As per the rules, schools have to maintain records of unique identification number and other biometric information of all children.
