DLF in Kerala High Court
Kerala High Court today directed Coastal Regulation Zone Management Authority (CRZMA) to produce all records relating to the proceedings against a waterfront apartment project of real estate giant DLF here.
The order was issued by Justice A Mohammed Mustaque on a petition by DLF challenging the jurisdiction of the CRZMA in the matter of granting clearance.
The state government had in June quashed the clearance after the opposition Left Democratic Front accused it of showing ‘undue favour’ in regularisation of the flat complex, allegedly built violating CRZ norms.
CRZMA informed the court that it had not given clearance and there was clear violation of Coastal Regulation Zone notifications of 1999 and 2011 by DLF.
The judge also asked them whether they have submitted recommendations to environment and forests ministry.Nalini Chidambaram, counsel for DLF, argued that the jurisdiction to decide these matters rests with the National Green Tribunal.
