INS Sindhurakshak Sank in Arabian Sea Crew Members From Kerala Also

Four from Kerala, three from Andhra Pradesh and one from Delhi were among the 18 personnel on INS Sindhurakshak that sank near Mumbai Naval Dockyard in the Arabian Sea on Wednesday.
According to sources, two of the officers and at least six sailors are married and the officers’ wives are in Mumbai. The others include R Venkitaraj from Poojappura in Thiruvananthapuram and Alok Kumar from Khanpur. The submarine’s second in command and executive officer Nikhil Pal is from Benaras and is unmarried.
Among the sailors on board were Liju Lawrence from Vellarada near Thiruvananthapuram, V Vishnu from Haripad near Alappuzha and Vikas Krishnadas from Thalassery.
While Dasari Prasad, Rajesh Tootika and Seetaram Badapalli are from Andhra Pradesh, K C Upadhaya is from Delhi and Malay Haldar is from Burdwan in West Bengal. Sources said the families of the three sailors have been informed about the tragedy and are in Mumbai.
