Kerala Entrepreneurs To be Helped by OIPC For Business

Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) has set up an Overseas Investment Promotion Cell (OIPC) for Kerala Entrepreneurs to set up their Business Abroad. The OIPC will organize and implement the foreign investment promotion strategy of the state. It has identified countries like Botswana, Rwanda, Ghana, Brazil, Peru, Chile and Canada as possible investment destinations for Kerala-based entrepreneurs.
The role of the cell includes identifying countries with which Kerala can establish bilateral ties, communicating with diplomatic missions of these countries, organizing promotional campaigns, availing necessary budgetary support from Kerala government, identification of Kerala entrepreneurs who are looking at opportunities abroad, facilitate visit of high level government delegation to the identified countries and provide funding syndication.
K G Ajith Kumar, Deputy General Manager, KSIDC said that African countries provide opportunities for Kerala entrepreneurs in sectors like precious stones, jewellery, wood industry, leather and agri-processing.
