Kerala Govt New Policy for Telecom Industry

Kerala Government have changed the policy for telecom industry in which it had accepted the central guidelines for clearance of the mobile tower in the state to which the Telecom Industry have welcomed it.
Director General of COAI Rajan S Mathew said that Kerala Govt is in the right direction for the development in IT sector. India has adopted safety norms for emissions from Base Transceiver Stations which is one-tenth of the international standards.
Ashok Sud, Secretary General, Association of United Service Providers of India(AUSPI) said "The Kerala Govt decision is a welcome step and will go on long way in further development of the telecom and IT industry in the state" .
The Kerala Govt has adopted the guidelines issued by the Department of Telecommunication, in its entirety for the state through its order dated 15 March 2014 and supersedes all earlier orders in this regard. The DoT has advised all state govt to take suitable installations of mobile towers by the Telecom Service Providers in the line with the guidelines issued by DoT in this regard on 1August 2013.
