Kerala Malayalam Singer K. P. Udayabhanu Died

K.P. Udayabhanu a singer and composer famed for his nostalgia evoking tracks, died here Sunday night , he was 77, had been undergoing treatment for Parkinson’s disease for past few months.
Though Udayabhanu never made films his full time career, he enriched the Malayalam film industry with many all-time hits,both as a singer and composer as well. He made his debut with the mid-1950s hit ‘Nayaru Pidicha Pulivalu‘, in which he sang a popular number penned by eminent director and writer P Bhaskaran.
The blessed singer who began his career with the All India Radio was a close associate of P Bhaskaran, K Raghavan, Thikkodian and Santha P Nair. He had won several awards, including the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy Award in 1987 and Padma Shri in 2009.
