Kerala State Bus Fare Increased Set to Rs 7 Minimum Fare
Kerala State Bus fare has been again revised and it is set to be raised to minimum bus fare of Rs 7 which will be effective from 1 June 2014. Cabinet has given approval to this bus fare hike.
Most probably, the fare of ordinary bus, fast passenger and super fast will be raised by Rs 1, Rs 2 and Rs 3 respectively. Presently, the minimum fare of ordinary bus is Rs 6.The kilometer rate of ordinary and fast passenger will be increased by five paise and eight paise respectively. At present, it is Rs 58 and 62 paise respectively.
For super fast, the kiliometre rate would be hiked to 75 paise from 65 paise. A hike of 10 paise per km has been recommended for super fast.
Earlier, the KSRTC too had demanded bus fare revision. Once the panel report is implemented, the daily revenue of KSRTC would go up by Rs 1 crore. Now it is Rs 4.7 crore.
