In 2012-13 financial year Kerala State Industrial Enterprises Ltd (KSIE)a recorded profit of Rs 7 crore in the . Addressing a press conference here on Friday, KSIE Chairman Mayin Haji said that compared to the previous year, it had achieved a growth of 30 per cent in sales revenue.
Cargo exports by KSIE from Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram airports saw a growth of 46,180 tons during this period. Speaking on the company’s future plans, he said that KSIE is planning big projects in the cargo sector.
“KSIE has plans to join hands with the Airport Authority of India to start Air Courier Cargo service at Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram Airports,” said, Febi Varghese, managing director. The Kerala Soaps, one of the departments under KSIE which faced a huge loss of Rs 1.35 crore in 2011-12 fiscal, made a profit of Rs 48 lakh last year and recorded sales of Rs 7 crore. Officials said that it is expecting the department to cross sales worth Rs 10 crore this year.
