Kerala State Transport Project 2nd Phase to Start From 1 June

Work on the second phase of the World Bank-aided Kerala State Transport Project (KSTP) to develop 367 km of State highways to global standards will commence on June 1. Eight road corridors will be taken up under this phase at a cost of Rs 2,403 crore, according to V.K. Ebrahim Kunju, Minister for Public Works.
In the second phase, initially, the Kasaragod-Kanhangad (27.76 km) and Pilathara-Pappinissery (20.90 km) roads will be taken up for work . KSTP and RDS Construction Company have signed an agreement for award of the work at a cost of Rs 251 crore. Joseph Mathew, project director, KSTP, and P.R.S. Nair, representing RDS Construction Company, signed the agreement in the presence of the Minister.
