Kerala to be e-Governance State soon

In an inauguration of state level programme in St Stephen’s auditorium in Pathanamthitta on Tuesday, Kerala’s Chief Minister, Oomen Chandy said, “With the implementation of the project across the State, people could easily avail service of any Government department from their homes or from any part of the State.”Kannur and Palakkad are two districts in Kerala that have been included in the National e-Governance Programme .
Chandy also added “The success of the pilot project in Kannur and Palakkad has given strength and hope to the Government in launching the e-district programme to all the other districts, exploiting the potential and advantages of the Information Technology,”. Chandy said, “Of the 3.3 crore population, the State’s Aadhaar registration has crossed 2.53 crore and of them 1.6 crore people have already been allotted with their Aadhaar cards.”
Chandy also said that the Secretariat file tracking system has already been implemented and now people can track their application from anywhere, ensuring transparency in the functioning of various Government departments.
