Kochi Cacaine case: Nigerian men Chikoshi arrested
The prime accused in the cocaine case Okova Chikosi from Nigeria was arrested in Goa on Friday morning by the police with the help of Anti-Narcotics Cell. The revelations of Okowa Chigosee Collins, could lead to more arrests. He has given the names of all big dealers in Kochi to the police. If there is evidence to support his statement, there would be more arrests in the case.
When he was asked to whom all he supplied drugs, like the way he gave cocaine to Reshma Rangaswamy and Blessy Silvester in Kochi on January 30, Collins gave a shocking reply. Police have received instructions to keep Collins’s statement secret.
Besides cocaine, Collins sends to Kochi costlier drugs such as LSD and MDMA (methylenedioxy-methamphetamine), which could cause serious side effects. The drug hoard is in Goa. He said he comes to Kochi when he gets an order worth 1 lakh rupees.
Collins opposed the assumption that drug traffickers mix other white powders in cocaine for extra profit. Through this, he has rejected the finding of the examination that the cocaine given to Reshma Rangaswamy, the prime accused in the Kochi case, was mixed with glucose. Police assume that 10 grams of cocaine was given to Reshma and Blessy for 50,000 rupees.
Police said detailed questioning was needed to verify the statements given by Collins. They will take the accused into custody in the coming days. The accused was remanded for 14 days. Since the accused could go abroad, the investigating officer, Francis Shelby, a circle inspector, has submitted a remand report in court, pleading that he should not be granted bail.
