KTDC Hotels to Go with Green Kerala

Kerala Government have started Green Kerala Initiative and KTDC is set to go with the plan and with the installation of own waste management plants in all their hotels and Tamarind easy Hotels.
Except in Samudra, Kovalam, the waste treatment plants were installed in majority of the hotels. With the initiative, waste will not be taken out of the premises of these hotels.
According to KTDC chief engineer Madhusoodanan Pillai, biogas plants were set up in all the major hotels under the KTDC. Works have been completed in Mascot, Chaithram and Bolgatty Palace. The Tamarind KTDC easy hotels in Kayamkulam and Alappuzha too have the waste treatment facility. But in Samudra, Kovalam, the work is pending due to lack of space. The works are progressing on a war-footing in Thekkady and is expected to be completed soon.
The State Government’s initiative to check the waste menace will be solved in the KTDC hotels, with the completion of the works in majority of the hotels, expected within a month.
Apart from the KTDC hotels, the Corporation also installed a biogas plant in the Thiruvananthapuram Museum with the support of the Museums and Zoo Department.
