Maharashtra first followed by Kerala in Energy Conservation

Kerala has bagged the Second Best Performing State Designated Agency Award-2012, instituted by the Union Ministry of Power, for Energy Conservation in the country.Addressing a news conference here, State Electricity Minister Aryadan Muhammed said Kerala was rated in the second position after assessing the performance of State Designated Agency, Energy Management Centre (EMC).
Maharashtra bagged the first position in the country.President Pranab Mukherjee would hand over the award to the Director of Kerala Energy Management Centre on National Energy Conservation Day on December 14, in New Delhi.
United Breweries, Palakkad, received the Best Performance Award in the Medium Scale Energy Consumers category. BSNL Telephone Exchange, Panampilly Nagar, Kochi, bagged the Best Performance Award in Best Buildings category. Ammini Energy Systems Private Limited, Energy Clinic, Kerala Ayurvedic Studies and Research Society-Kottakkal also bagged the best performance awards in various categories.
