Media Awards in Kerala

T Soman, news editor, Mathrubhumi daily, has won the state media award for general reporting in 2012 for his series of reports on migrant labourers in Kerala.
The award for development reporting went to B V Pavanan (Kerala Kaumudi) for his report on villages in forest lands.
Sameer A Hamid of Malayala Manorama daily won the award in the news photography category and the cartoon award went to T K Sujith of Kerala Kaumudi. The awards were announced by Culture Minister K C Joseph at a press conference here today.
