The Road Safety Club of St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School here will organize a series of awareness drives, as part of Road Safety Week from January 1 to 7, to reduce the number of traffic-related accidents. Students had gone around the city and taken photographs of blatant traffic violations, including of cars parked on footpaths. “Since a large number of new vehicles are being registered every year, parking facilities must be provided accordingly,” said a club member.
The students will work with Toonz Academy to produce animated clippings on road safety and will organise an inter-school quiz competition on Thursday and Saturday. They will also mark white lines on humps along the Pattoor-Moolavilakom-Thampuranmukku stretch.
