Teacher Salary issue to be resolved by 15 December

Kerala State government informed Kerala high court that all the issues will be resolved relating to the hike in the salaries of pre-primary teachers and Ayahs could be settled and consequential orders issued on or before December 15.In a statement, the government said 995 pre-primary teachers and 1,552 Ayahs were eligible for increased salaries. It also said that the government had taken earnest efforts to comply with the directive of the High Court to enhance the salary of teachers and Ayahs working in government pre-primary schools to Rs.5,000 from Rs.900 and to Rs.3,500 from Rs.600 respectively.
The government said the salary hike would create an additional financial burden of Rs.1,04,07,000 per month for the State exchequer. As it involved a huge financial liability, this needed to be placed before the next Cabinet meeting.
