Young Scientist Scheme Launched by KSCSTE

The Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) has announced the launch of its Young Scientist Scheme (YSS)- a fellowship programme for nurturing and mentoring young researchers.
YSS is designed to help fulfil long-term career goals of young people in science, technology and related domains and to provide them research opportunities in niche areas of basic and applied sciences in well-established and recognised R&D Centres in Kerala.
The scheme is open to applicants under the age of 40 years; extended to 45 years for women candidates.
Selected young scientists would be provided monthly emoluments of Rs 35,000 (for fresh PhD holders), Rs 40,000 (for fellows with three years research/industrial experience after PhD) and Rs 45,000 (for fellows with five years research/industrial experience after PhD).
The awardee scientists are also eligible for R&D grants up to Rs 30 lakh for three years to cover manpower at junior-level, travel, contingency, consumables and equipment. The sanctioned projects may be operated in research institutes/ colleges/ industry, university departments or selected national research institutes within the state.
