35th National Games: Kerala Bag four more Gold Medals
In the ongoing 35th National Games, Kerala bag four more Gold Medals, Kerala bagged 20 Gold, 20 Silver and 27 Bronze medals, (total 67) till the noon.
Kerala is on the fourth place in the overall Ranking. Women stars have made Kerala proud again on Monday.Two gold medals came from fencing arena in Kochi and one was from the athletics that kicked off on Monday in Thiruvananthapuram.
Kerala began their campaign in National Games fencing with a bang by winning two gold medals on the opening day of the competition at the Cochin International Airport Limited Convention Centre, Nedumbassery.
Kerala’s first gold of the day was won by woman fencer R. Bhavani Devi in the individual sabre event. Bhavani beat Punjab’s Komalpreet Shukla 15-6 to earn the yellow metal.
In no time, followed another fencing gold medal as V.P. Dilna of the state beat her opponent in women’s epee event. She beat Kavita Devi of Assam in the final.
Kerala also won two bronze medals in fencing – K. Bibeesh in men’s foil event and Stephitha Chalil in epee event.
