National Games: Olympian Preeja will lead Kerala team
The 2015 National Games of India, also known as the 35th National Games of India, will be held from 31 January 2015 in Kerala and the Olympian Preeja Sreedharan will be the lead hosts for Kerala among the 744-member team includes 391 men and 353 women.
The team was announced by Sports Council president Padmini Thomas.As many as 90 athletes will participate in the track and field events, in which the state is eying a rich haul.Meanwhile, a 150-member contingent from Manipur which arrived in the state in the morning was accorded a warm reception at the Kazhakkoottam railway station under the stewardship of Sports Minister, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan.
I.M. Vijayan, Subhash George and Najum-ud-Din will be deputy Chef-de-Mission. Former international swimmer champion Wilson Cheriyan will be Chef-de-Mission of the Kerala team.
