35th National Games: fourth Gold for Kerala
In the Ongoing National Games 2015, Kerala continued his excellent from the opening day of the National Games to bag his fourth Medal, Till now Kerala won two gold, six silver and six bronze medals.
The 1500m freestyle gold is Kerala’s fourth gold medal in the National Games.Kerala men’s swimming team (3:53:33) won the silver medal in the 400X100M medley relay after finishing behind Madhya Pradesh (3:48:56). The bronze medal went to Karnataka team which finished with a timing of 3:58:36. The record of 4:02:21 set by the Karnataka in 2011 edition of the Games also got broken.
Anoop Augustine of Kerala bagged the silver, and his team mate Arun S. won the bronze in men’s 200m breaststroke after they finished behind Sandeep Sejwal of Madhya Pradesh, who clocked a new games record of 2:13:53, beating his own previous record of 2: 17:53.
Aakansha Vora of Maharashtra won the gold in the women’s 800m freestyle with a games record time of 9:15:30. She beat Malavika V. of Karnataka (9:23: 95, Silver) and Monique Gandhi, her Maharashtra peer, who clocked (9:29:93). The previous games record was 9:24:95 set by Richa Mishra in 2011.
